Advanced Security For Advanced Threats
An environment breakout refers to a situation in which an attacker is able to gain access to a restricted environment or system, typically by exploiting a vulnerability or bypassing security controls. In a typical environment breakout scenario, the attacker is able to gain access to an environment that is isolated from other systems or networks, and is then able to move laterally within that environment in order to gain access to sensitive data or systems. Environment breakouts can be particularly dangerous because they may go undetected for long periods of time, allowing the attacker to compromise a large number of systems before being detected. To prevent environment breakouts, organizations should implement robust security controls and regularly assess their systems and networks for vulnerabilities that could be exploited by attackers.
