Over 50,000 Vulnerabilities Discovered in DoD Systems Through Bug Bounty Program

The US Department of Defense (DoD) has received over 50,000 vulnerability reports through its vulnerability disclosure program (VDP).

On March 15, 2024, the DoD Cyber Crime Center (DC3) announced that it had reached a milestone of processing its 50,000th vulnerability since the launch of its crowd-sourced ethical hacking initiative in November 2016.

Unlike traditional bug bounty programs, DC3's VDP operates as an ongoing initiative, inviting ethical hackers to identify vulnerabilities within US military IT systems and submit reports directly to the DoD.
